Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to share my enthusiasm for and knowledge of science. I believe that what it takes to be good at science is directly transferable to being successful in life outside of a classroom such as critical thinking and analytical skills.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experiences take place during chemistry labs. From the varied, often hilarious, reactions students have to lighting our lab burners the first time to the facial expressions I observe when “something cool” happens there are no shortage of memorable moments and it’s too hard to choose just one.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were get $25,000 I would put much of it back into my school and community to further enrich the lives of the people I work with and live around.
