Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I struggled with being bullied in middle school and high school. During that time, I had teachers who put a smile on my face even when they didn’t know the extent of what I was going through. Being there for students who are going through struggles or just need someone to talk to is why I became a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable moment in my teaching experience so far has been at the end of my first year teaching when I received letters from students expressing their gratitude and sharing the positive impact that I had made on them. I still keep these letters in my desk and revisit them on days when I need it most.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win the $25,000 I would put that towards my masters degree, upgrade my classroom and go on a trip with my amazing wife!
