Hope Adams

I am a teacher for autistic children. I love making learning fun, and I love to see my students grow in their abilities every day.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to help autistic youth learn new things, and feel supported in the classroom. Fostering a safe, fun, learning environment is my goal every day for my students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when my class rode on tricycles during indoor recess. I joined in and rode a tricycle as well, and the kids had a lot of fun during this experience.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to upgrade our school library. I would also upgrade the students’ laptops. I would then look into alternative seating for when students are at their desks and having trouble focusing or being comfortable in their chairs. Lastly, I would get fun and engaging fidget toys to help students feel regulated and calm in the classroom.
