Holly Flynn

I’ve always loved helping people. Being a teacher allows me to help so many families each year. By supporting them in any way possible. I enjoy being that person to build a child’s confidence up and just getting to see them light up when they have met their goal, it’s everything to me . Being that person to get to keep the wonder alive by keeping them curious and asking the tough questions while they learn a new skill and have fun while they learn. It’s my dream job.

I work in special education. But last year when our elementary had a lot of staff go out on leave and didn’t have subs. I stepped into those roles to support those classrooms and covered a kindergarten classroom for a maternity leave. Then a first grade class when a teacher went out on leave. Having three different roles in one school year was a lot. But that experience taught me so much about myself and I was able to connect with so many kids on so many different levels. I’ll never forget it.

I would take our school on a whole school field trip. I’d love to take them to a science museum, or another interactive place for the kids to explore and learn. I’d also love to fix some things in our school building that need repair. We have a tight school budget and it would be nice to be able to make it a more welcoming place for kids and their families.
