I became a teacher and coach because I am passionate about helping young people grow both physically and mentally. Through physical education and athletics, I have the opportunity to teach students the importance of teamwork, discipline, confidence, and healthy habits. I enjoy creating an environment where students can challenge themselves, build character, and develop skills that will benefit them not only in sports, but throughout their lives. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences is seeing students who start the year unsure of themselves grow in confidence through physical education and athletics. Watching them work hard, support their teammates, and accomplish things they didn’t think they could do—whether it’s improving their fitness scores or competing in a game—reminds me why I became a teacher and coach.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Winning this award would help me pay off personal debt and relieve financial stress, allowing me to focus fully on teaching and coaching without needing extra work. It would also give me the opportunity to take my two boys on a special family vacation to the beach—something they’ve never experienced. Creating those memories with them while gaining financial stability would mean the world to my family.
