I wanted to help kids who didnt all have the same opportunities or abilities find a love of learning, not just in school but in life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my students who was autistic would throw a fit and try to "fire" everyone in the school when he didnt get his way. The first few weeks that he was my student, I watched him and understood that he really didnt feel connected to anyone in the school, including his para. I started asking him to come sit with me during work times and would watch him while he was working, asking him to make corrections if needed. Through these and other experiences, he ended year 2 without incident.
What would you do with the $25,000?Pay off some debt (student loans), get some different lighting for my classroom and put 5 new windows in my house.
