Learn MoreI have always connected well with children and had a strong aptitude for science and math. I became a teacher to share that knowledge with future generations. Passing knowledge forward helps society grow, innovate, and build a stronger future. I also believe it is important for young women to see female role models in STEAM fields and recognize that those opportunities are open to them as well.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience involved a student I advised in a club. She served as an officer during my first year as advisor, a year when I learned as much from the officers as they did from me. Five years later, I saw her at a convention as a first-year teacher and advisor of the same club. She shared that she eagerly accepted the role because of the impact her senior year with me had on her.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won, I would use the funds to pursue another master’s degree to further my education and strengthen my ability to serve my students. Any remaining funds would be used to take a vacation with my family. Maintaining balance and supporting teacher mental health is important so educators can continue bringing their best to the classroom.
