Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because growing up my teachers were my biggest supporters. They encouraged me to do my best, and sparked my love for science and learning. I wanted to make connections and motivate young minds to learn just as my teachers did for me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Recently, while teaching 8th grade about heat transfer, and different types of it we did a fun lab experiment. We had a pancake day and cooked pancakes to learn about conduction, convection, and radiation. It was hands on, connected our learning to real life, and was a delicious day in the lab!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the money, I would pay off a chunk of my student loans to start. I would also set aside some money for my family to help expand our house so we can give our son the big and luxurious room he deserves, and is excited to have friends over to.
