Teaching lets me advocate for kids, be a positive role model, and support their social, emotional, and academic growth while inspiring them.

I wanted to be a teacher because I grew up helping care for my much younger siblings and discovered my love for working with children. I’ve always wanted to be a positive role model and a consistent, loving presence in my students’ lives. My goal is to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally while making a lasting impact and reminding them daily that they are capable and valued.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was hearing from a former student years later. He had been one of my most challenging students, and I often had to push him and hold him accountable. In his message, he thanked me for not giving up on him and for believing in him when he didn’t believe in himself. Knowing that my consistency and high expectations made a lasting impact meant more than I can express.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I would finish paying for grad school so I can continue growing as an educator without financial stress. I would also invest in flexible seating options to create a more comfortable, student-centered classroom environment. Additionally, I would purchase updated instructional resources and materials to better support diverse learning needs and help my students succeed academically and confidently.
