Tell us why you became a teacher

I was in hvac & plumbing for 6 years and was unsure what I wanted to do. I remember when I would volunteer at my church in the children Wednesday night worship. it was something I enjoyed and loved and once I started in a classroom it was instantly a passion! Being able to be a positive male figure in a child’s life is crucial and I fell in love with providing it and being apart of a child’s development!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My school and I put together a plan to work with a child with serve sensor issue. Constantly felt a need to scratch & squeeze anything in sight including people, instead of giving up we developed a plan for him. Constant digit that was stretchy & squishy, had place for him to push to release anger. By the end of the year he didn’t need any hand held things and was able to regulate his emotions!
