Kids are amazing! I love seeing them light up when we do labs about science & talk about life in general. Helping & serving them is my life!

I had a really amazing 4th grade teacher who inspired me. I also had a really terrible 5th Grade teacher (for one subject). Having both helped me decide to become a teacher and help each and every student to feel... safe, welcomed, loved, cared for, included, respected, accepted, and seen/heard. Also, making sure every student every day knows that I am there for them. Being approachable for them to discuss any challenge they are facing is key. Then, the fun, Science Learning can happen!!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceLast year our superintendent picked me to have NBC Channel 5 News come and make a video segment for TV about my Science class. See link here: https://youtu.be/KIclBMGFnWU?si=skDZD6iqO-bMPit9 It shows a lot of fun science we have done and continue to do. I will never forget that moment.
What would you do with the $25,000?First, help with my family's current needs. Then, save for the future - especially my daughter - for her college education. FInally, add some additional materials, costumes, and fun activities to my classroom.
