Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to share my love of music with the students and showing them they can achieve greatness if they put their minds to it! Also, because in 1st grade I didn’t have a supportive and kind teacher and I wanted to make sure that my future students wouldn’t have to fear going to school because of an educator. Lastly, the great music teachers that I had inspired me to pursue music education.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience thus far has been getting to witness my students’ many “ah-ha” moments, seeing them grow vocally and celebrating their achievements together! We become a family in the 3 years I get to work with them and watching them succeed is my favorite part of my job!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put it in savings towards a down payment for a house. I live on Long Island and it is so expensive to live here, but I am hopeful that one day my boyfriend and I can save up enough to buy a fixer upper and start our own family.
