Tell us why you became a teacher

From my childhood, I had the passion for learning and always a leadership mindset. I re member accompanying my illiterate grandmother to her medical appointments and places where I had to read signs, prescriptions, and so on. These experiences inspired me to want to help people, and what better way to help than by motivating children and teenagers from their basic education to learn the necessary tools to face the future that awaits them.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

When I began my teaching career, I had the opportunity to participate as a missionary volunteer in a remote, impoverished community for two week. During that time, my colleagues and I participated in various activities. The children considered instructing like sacred and appreciated whatever little I could offer them at the time. The truth is that I learned far more from them than the from me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

At the school where I work, I coordinate a club. Currently, I has students who, for various reasons, don’t live with a close relative or anyone the know. I’d like to give them an educational trip. For example, take them to an amazing museum where they can learn about culture and have fun at the same time. A trip to an amusement park or a classic play. I want them to experience something educational that’s currently out of their reach. I want to encourage them to keep dreaming.
