I love helping kids find their spark and nurturing it. I believe every student can learn; learning just looks different for each.

I became a teacher to make a difference like the teachers who believed in me. I celebrate small wins, spark curiosity, and show students that mistakes are steps forward. Every day I help them see their potential and know they are capable and valued.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a nonverbal student who used a device to communicate. By the end of the year, he was speaking in sentences, connecting with peers, and expressing himself. He was proud, his mom was in tears, and I will never forget the joy of giving him a voice.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to give my students more opportunities: a color printer and a Cricut with materials for creative projects, a field trip they might not otherwise attend, and donations to those in need. I’d also treat myself to a new teacher bag. Every dollar would help my students learn, create, and give back.
