Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make learning fun and help kids to understand difficult concepts in a way that is easier to understand. I thought this would help kids love school and learning because I did not when I was a kid.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment is when I taught a child to read in the fourth grade because he spoke a different language and didn’t know how to read in English. It was amazing to see how this boy grew and took off the rest of the year. He also developed a love for reading. I met him a few years later and he was excelling in all subjects. That is when I knew I was making a difference and what I was doing was working.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use that money to further my education to keep up with the newest technology and courses to keep engaging my students and building new ways to teach every child.
