Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves a safe, supportive place to learn and grow. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop skills, and recognize their potential. Teaching allows me to form meaningful relationships, guide students through challenges, and celebrate their progress. Knowing I can make a positive difference in their lives each day is what continues to motivate me in this profession.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences has been tutoring a student and watching them growth over time. They have become more confident, more willing to try, and their progress is clearly showing in their work. Seeing them believe in themself and take pride in what they can do reminds me why I teach. Knowing I am making a real difference in a student’s life is incredibly meaningful to me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded the $25,000, it would truly be life-changing, not just for me, but for my students. I would use a portion to pay off student debt, giving me the freedom to focus even more of my time, energy, and heart on my classroom. From there, my biggest priority would be my students. I would invest in hands-on learning materials, high-interest books, and engaging science resources that bring learning to life.
