Tell us why you became a teacher

Since I was seven years old, I knew that my purpose in life was to place an impact on people‘s life. After going through reading struggles of my own, I learned that I wanted to help each student that I could become the most confident reader that they can be.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was teaching an interactive Oregon Trail game. This is because I got to teach students that each subject can come together to formulate a really fun lesson. Math, science, social studies, and reading can bring us to a greater understanding of the world around us and the past experiences that others went through.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pour back into the school that I work for, start a summer reading program for the low income families that attend my church, and help my mom who is going through cancer treatments.
