I became a teacher because I love sharing information. I love learning new things. I had a science teacher in 6th grade who encouraged the love of science and education in me. I love being there for students to not only educate but to raise their confidence to move forward in life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI love a challenge. I was a JOM teacher and had a student in elementary who's confidence was low, they made F's on their spelling tests. After getting to know the child, I realized they were a kinesthetic learner. I took their spelling lists and we marched around the building learning their spelling words. This child's face full of joy learning this way gave me such inspiration that this was what I was meant to do. After a few weeks, he started making 100% on tests!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would update my technology I use at home to do my planning for school. I would give myself spa time to recouperate. I would find a charity that is children related and make a contribution. I would make a donation to my youngest child's classroom. Then I would add the rest to my retirement fund.
