Teaching preschool is the best teaching job there is. They love school and their teacher. Seeing them learn through play and books is a joy.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I struggled in elementary and high school. I learned differently than the rest of my class and I wanted to teach to those kids. I did have a few teachers that were able to understand my leaning style and help. My mom was an in home daycare provider so being around little children was how I was raised and taking care of them. Teaching fit both of those and especially now as a preschool teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My first two years were fun! I taught high of the oil boom in Williston. My first classroom was a men’s bathroom converters into a classroom. I taught title I, and about three students and myself my class was tight! I loved the teachers and the craziness that Williston had going on at that time. Being in title I and in the elementary classrooms throughout the day was memorable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would take my husband and two sons on a trip and by a new microwave for my classroom!
