My mission is to help children feel loved and capable. Math can be a discouraging subject, but if I can show kids they are capable of being mathematicians then maybe they can take that mindset ("I can do hard things!") into their future endeavors too. I aim to build their self confidence in math and through math while also teaching them how to be productive citizens and treat each other with kindness and respect. I feel so fulfilled in loving and teaching these incredible kids!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I wouldn't say there are single moments that are more memorable than others, but it's the long term relationship with kids that continues to remind me why I love teaching. I often start the year in Algebra 2 with kids that "hate math" and "aren't good at it." Throughout the year I get to watch them persevere through hard problems and celebrate with them when they start understanding it and building their confidence. I live for those moments - to experience the joy in learning!
