Tell us why you became a teacher

Growing up, I have always see myself becoming a teacher. It all started from doing my role as an eldest daughter. I find happiness teaching my siblings when they were younger, and then teaching little kids in our community. It pushes me to shape more little minds and by becoming a teacher it would be possible for me to do it. So I when I went to college, with no doubts and other options, I pursue the course, and now so happy to still be in service.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of the most memorable teaching experience is when I get to teaching here in the US. I have been adapting to new learning environment so as the students behavior in particular. However, seeing my students show their gratitude and appreciation because they were enjoying our classes and made them get higher test results. It will always be memorable for me to see their improvements in my classes, and I will always look forward to these kinds of moments. Their success is already a win for me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Becoming a teacher is truly both an honor and a privilege. Now that I have been given the opportunity to extend my service to the community, I wanted to use this money to share happiness to my school community here in the US and in my home country, Philippines. I wanted to share school supplies and daily needs of teachers and students in those communities. I know that it would be a great help to allow both teachers and students to do their part with everything that they needed.
