As an undergraduate art student, I discovered the transformative power of creative freedom — and knew I wanted to share it. Teaching became my calling because art gave me a voice, and I believe every young person deserves that same liberation. I became a teacher to open doors, spark curiosity, and help students find their own freedom of expression.

My most memorable experiences share a common thread: watching student art leave the studio and enter the world. From school hallways to community and statewide exhibitions, I’ve seen something remarkable happen — the moment a student realizes their work has value beyond the classroom. That shift in how they see themselves as artists is the most rewarding thing I witness as a teacher.
