Ever since I was young, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I recruited neighborhood kids to be my “students,” turning my basement into a classroom with a whiteboard, desks, and recycled worksheets. Even then, I loved guiding others. Today, I’m grateful to live that dream—supporting students, being their advocate, and teaching them boundaries, expectations, and life skills. I truly love what I do.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI am in my second year as a special education teacher in an Autistic Support classroom, working with students in grades K–6. My students have taught me more than I ever imagined—patience, perspective, resilience, and joy. Each child helps me grow, both professionally and personally. They make me a better human every day and always put a smile on my face.
