I became a teacher thanks to many of the student's that inspired me while I was substitute teaching. Student's deserve a teacher who can understand that they are human too and have issues outside of school. I want to ensure that student's feel that they have a teacher who understands their wants and needs.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have a few most memorable experiences. One funny and one serious. The funny is last year during our Pep Assembly and I got pulled across the gym floor during tug-o-war creating a forever core memory. The serious is winning what is called The All-In Award for teacher of the month during my second year. This is a student led award, and I was honored to win it.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I could say a vacation, pay off my car, or something else for myself. However, I would honestly start a charity that gives scholarships for student's that come from broken homes and deserve a break post high school. Either for college, or in the trades.
