Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building their confidence and love for learning. Teaching allows me to create a safe, supportive environment where every child feels valued and capable. Seeing their progress, excitement, and pride in their achievements is what inspires me to continue teaching each day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a student who struggled with confidence and avoided participating in reading. Through consistent encouragement, small group support, and celebrating every success, the student began to take risks and believe in themselves. The moment they volunteered to read aloud to the class with pride was unforgettable. It reminded me that teaching is not just about academics, but about helping students see their own potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would pay off student loans, invest in resources that enhance student learning, such as flexible seating, hands-on literacy and math materials, and expanding our classroom library. I would also create more engaging and supportive learning experiences for my students. Additionally, I would use a small portion to take care of myself through relaxing experiences, allowing me to recharge and continue showing up as my best for my students each day.
