I’ve always been an advocate for children and students with disabilities need advocates everyday. In the small moments and the big moments. Someone to say you can do hard things and succeed when everyone and the world is telling them they can’t!

So many memorable moments - I call them the light bulb moments. When those hard things start clicking and you see that confidence build and they start taking pride in their learning. It’s the small victories of following directions, to work completion, to being able to self regulate after a meltdown. With special education they are all memorable moments because the sacrifice, grit, and determination to succeed is that much greater and makes it all memorable.

I believe in paying it forward and I would love to donate a portion of it to a college student who is also going into the field of special education. We need teachers who have a calling to work with our students. I would also love to go back to school and get another degree. Knowledge is power at any age!
