I love teaching because I get to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help kids discover they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.

I became a teacher because I struggled as a young student and know how powerful the right support can be. I’m passionate about promoting early literacy and strong social-emotional skills so children feel confident and capable. I love mentoring young learners to be hardworking, resilient, and kind, and helping them believe in themselves early on.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was following the same class from kindergarten through second, third, and fourth grade. This journey allowed me to deeply understand the progression of learning while building strong, meaningful relationships with both students and families. The lasting bond I share with that class is something I truly cherish and has shaped me as an educator.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to invest in resources that support early literacy and social-emotional learning, especially for young learners who struggle as I once did. I would expand hands-on materials, mentoring opportunities, and family connections that foster confidence, kindness, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
