I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves someone who sees their potential and helps them believe in themselves. I wanted to make a difference early in students’ lives by creating a safe, encouraging space where they can learn, grow, and feel valued. Teaching allows me to inspire curiosity, build strong foundations, and help shape not just academic success, but confident, kind individuals.

One of my most memorable moments was watching a student who struggled with confidence finally read a book independently for the first time. Their face lit up with pride, and the whole class celebrated their success. That moment reminded me that teaching is about more than academics—it’s about building confidence, resilience, and a love of learning that lasts far beyond the classroom.

If I won $25,000, I would invest it directly into my classroom by providing engaging learning materials, books, and hands-on resources that support all learners. I would also create flexible seating and a more inviting environment where students feel comfortable and excited to learn. Additionally, I would use part of the funds to support my students’ families with resources that extend learning beyond the classroom.
