Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always loved working with children and helping them grow. Growing up with four siblings shaped my patience and leadership. I want to be a steady, calm, and firm presence who builds strong relationships and supports every child’s academic and emotional growth. I believe all students deserve someone who believes in them and refuses to give up on their potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was during student teaching when a struggling student finally had a breakthrough in math. After weeks of frustration, they solved a problem independently and smiled with pride. Seeing their confidence grow in that moment reminded me why relationships, patience, and consistency matter so much in the classroom.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would invest it directly into my classroom and students. I would purchase updated curriculum materials, flexible seating, and sensory tools to better support diverse learning and behavioral needs. I would also expand my classroom library with high-interest, inclusive books. The remaining funds would help provide hands-on learning experiences, field trips, and resources that remove barriers so every student can succeed.
