I became a teacher because I believe that knowledge is power, and I am proud to be part of a profession that shared equitable access to that power with the young people of my community.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy school hosts an annual Latin Culture Fair, and many of my most memorable teaching experiences come from that event and watching my students interact in an authentic way with Latin cultures from our community to learn about open-mindedness, empathy, and compassion.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would fund events and field trips for my students to access equitable learning opportunities, and give my students the ability to learn about Spanish in authentic and engaging ways outside of the classroom.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America's Favorite Teacher, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
