Learn MoreI became a teacher to inspire creativity and give students a space where they feel seen and valued. Art allows students to express emotions, ideas, and stories in ways words sometimes cannot. I want to help students build confidence, discover their talents, and realize that their creativity matters and has a place in the world.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled in other classes truly shine through art. They created a piece that expressed their emotions and story, and seeing their confidence grow reminded me how powerful creativity can be. Moments like that show me why teaching art matters.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would invest it into my art classroom by purchasing quality art supplies, technology, and equipment that allow students to explore different mediums. I would also create more opportunities for students to showcase their work and express themselves creatively, ensuring every student has access to the tools they need to succeed and grow through art.
