I became a teacher because I believe every student deserves to feel seen, is capable, and should be inspired to learn. What began with helping classmates and younger siblings grew into a lifelong commitment to joyful, meaningful learning. Today I focus on supporting teachers and building systems that help the entire school community thrive.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

A student who struggled with math had told me, “Being in your class makes me happy.” She said it was because I helped her believe she could do math. That moment shaped how I lead today - focusing on systems, teaching practices, and celebrations that help every student feel capable, supported, and proud to learn.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest part of the $25,000 in upgrading our school auditorium’s sound system so student and staff voices can be heard clearly during assemblies, celebrations, and performances. It’s the heart of our campus community. The rest would go toward supporting my family - covering bills, investing in my children’s education, and hopefully taking a small family vacation.
