Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher after I started volunteering at a preschool 12 years ago, where I quickly developed a passion for working with young, vulnerable children. That experience inspired me to want to make a difference in their lives and support their growth during such important early years. I truly care about how children develop, and I believe that education opens doors to future opportunities. Becoming a mother at 17 deepened my love for being around young children even more.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was working with a preschool child who struggled to communicate and often became frustrated. I took extra time to build trust and support them, celebrating small progress along the way. Over time, they began to open up, participate more, and gain confidence. Seeing that growth reminded me why I became a teacher—to make a difference in the lives of young children during their most important stages of development.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would use part of it to support my family and create more stability for my children. I would also invest in my classroom by buying supplies and resources to better support my students’ learning. Additionally, I would save a portion for the future and emergencies, ensuring long-term security.
