Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhen I was working with a five year old Autistic boy. He lived to swing at recess but couldn’t tell me he wanted to swing. I have a degree in Music. So I thought. maybe he could sing it. So I started teaching him to sing: “Elaine push please, Elaine. And at the end of two we he could sing it to me. And we had a great time playing on the swings at recess.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would create more ways to teach ESL kids to use technology to help them hear their own voice. So their voices can ring out and tell us their beautiful stories of who they are and how they make “America a better place to be.”
