I love teaching because I love seeing the pure curiosity, the growth, the unfiltered honesty, and the joy that lights up the students daily.

I became a kindergarten teacher because I love helping children build their first experiences with learning. This stage is about more than academics, it’s where kids develop confidence, social skills, and curiosity. I enjoy creating a safe, supportive space where they can grow, explore, and express themselves. Watching them reach milestones, like making friends or learning to write their name, is incredibly rewarding and inspires me every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable experiences was with a student who struggled to read and often said, “I can’t do it.” We practiced daily with simple books and celebrated small wins. One day, it clicked, they sounded out words and read a full sentence independently. Their face lit up as they said, “I did it!” That moment showed how patience and encouragement can make all the difference.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to create a hands-on, engaging classroom with STEM kits, art supplies, and manipulatives to make learning fun. I’d build a cozy reading corner with diverse books to inspire a love of reading. Part of the funds would provide supplies for students in need, ensuring every child can fully participate, explore, and feel supported in their learning journey.
