Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because it was expected from my parents. I stayed a teacher because I fell in love with the profession, the interaction with the students, and seeing the light bulb effect.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was my first year as a special education teacher. I was fresh out of college and did not know what I was doing. I cried the first two weeks of school because I could not understand why my students did not get it. I received some advice from an experienced teacher that I need to analyze my students on what they can do instead of what they can't do!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Honestly, I would celebrate by taking my family to dinner. Then I would celebrate by sponsoring a lunch with my students. Then I would buy myself some jewelry and put the rest in a savings account for my niece's education.
