Tell us why you became a teacher

After being downsized from a successful Pharmaceutical career in 2007, I obtained a substitute teaching license while searching for a new job, until I found a new role in the corporate world. Well, after 19 years, an MA in Teaching, & an PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, I found my calling. I AM AN EDUCATOR! #educatorsrock

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

As a First-Gen student, I have worked as an Intervention Specialist, a co-teacher in English & Biology, a High School College Advisor, a College Professor, and now, on my own, as an Independent Education Consultant. My memorable teaching experience has been and continues to be helping and watching other First-Gen students gain access to college, discover who they are, and graduate.

What would you do with the $25,000?

As the Owner & Educational Coach of College & Career Coaching, LLC, in addition to assisting students in finding their path through coaching and financial assistance, I would use the funds to continue providing scholarships and financial aid for HS students transitioning to college or career plans.
