Tell us why you became a teacher

It started with my kindergarten teacher who I admired so much. She played the piano daily in class and always allowed me to sit up front. I thought I was very special , but now I realized it was probably cause I was the shortest one in the class. I kept in touch with her until she passed. We attended the same church.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Too many memorable experiences to really name. I just loved the fact that the students I taught always came back to visit and shared great memories of when they were in my class which were always positive. So many families even kept materials from when their children were in my class. I have taught many generations.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Well, first I would put a share of it in the bank. I just receive a Social Security check and no pension. I still enjoy buying materials for the teachers at my school and other community schools in the area. I would also like to pay off some bills.
