Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives in a meaningful and lasting way. Growing up, I saw how powerful education can be—not just in gaining knowledge, but in shaping confidence, opportunities, and future paths. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand things, whether it was explaining a concept, supporting someone who was struggling, or encouraging them to keep going. Teaching felt like a natural path where I could turn that passion into fuel.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was working with a student who was really struggling and had started to lose confidence in themselves. At the beginning, they were hesitant to participate and often doubted their ability to succeed. I made it a point to give them extra support, break concepts down in a way that worked for them, and most importantly, encourage them consistently. Over time, I started to see a change not just in their understanding of the material but their confidence.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded the $25,000, I would invest it directly into enhancing my students’ learning experience and creating more opportunities for their growth. A portion of the funds would go toward classroom resources up-to-date materials, technology, and hands-on learning tools that make lessons more engaging and accessible for all students. I’d also use it to create more interactive and project-based learning experiences that help students connect what they learn to the real world.
