Tell us why you became a teacher

Our daycare is with the school district for the prek 3/4 class I wanted to become the teacher here because early childhood is a powerful stage for learning and growth. I love helping young children build confidence, curiosity, and social skills through play and structure. Being part of their first school experiences allows me to create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued, supported, and excited to learn every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a very shy child who struggled to participate in class. They rarely spoke and avoided group activities. Through patience, encouragement, and consistent support, I slowly saw their confidence grow. The day they volunteered to answer a question during circle time was unforgettable. That moment reminded me how powerful encouragement and a safe environment can be in shaping a child’s growth.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would reinvest it into my classroom to better support my students. I would purchase new learning materials, sensory equipment, and interactive centers to enhance hands on learning. I would also improve our reading and play areas to create a warm, engaging environment. Part of the funds would go toward professional development so I can continue growing as an educator and provide the best experience for every child.
