Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to support students in their little successes. I love to watch students learn something new and have their faces glow when they finally get the new concept or understand the information. Teaching isn't a job it is a passion and a way of life for me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moments in teaching are when a student with significant health issues got to do things that he didn't think he would be able to do. After weeks of not hitting a basket during his unified practices. During a game his ed tech went out and helped him stand using a gait belt and he nailed not one but two baskets that game. That same student went to prom and danced with his friends. His parents didn't think he could graduate but I made sure he graduated and marched.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to put a down payment on a house for my family. I haven't been able to buy a house due to income but with a larger down payment I can get approved. This would make it so that we had a home that was more livable/warm then our current home.
