Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher at a time when opportunities for women were often limited. Twice, I transitioned into the business world, yet each time I was called back to this mission. I teach to help students see that they matter—that their talents, time, and dreams can make a positive impact on the world.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

As a STEM teacher, most of my days are filled with aha moments and innovative successes. I love watching students develop solutions I never would have fathomed. Some of my most memorable moments have come when reconnecting with former students, reliving those experiences, and hearing about the lasting impact of those lessons.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it to bring much-needed resources into my STEM Lab. My students could use microscopes, robots, and digital data collection tools.
