I wanted to fulfill a part of my life's passion...making the difference in the lives of students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a student who shut down and out, allowing no one to interact with him. I learned later that he'd lost his mother in a domestic violence situation, and he had a hard time dealing with support structures. Through a writing assignment, he was able to release some of the trauma. We talked about things when he initiated conversation, and he was able to get the help he needed.
What would you do with the $25,000?A portion of the money would fund more educational resources for my rural middle school students. I will also start a scholarship in my father's name for students to continue their education journey.
