I love teaching because I help students see their worth, grow their unique talents, and believe they can become anything they aspire to be.

I became a teacher to make a lasting impact—not just academically, but personally. I want my students to one day say, “That teacher cared about me. They believed in me.” Teaching is more than lessons and standards; it’s about relationships, encouragement, and helping students see their potential. If I can help a child feel valued, supported, and confident, then I know I’ve made a difference that truly matters.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience was my first year teaching. A parent doubted I could handle her child because I was young and inexperienced. That student stayed in my class, and we built trust, consistency, and a strong relationship. The student grew academically and personally. Twenty-four years later, we still keep in touch. That year taught me that belief and relationships can truly change a child’s trajectory.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were awarded the $25,000, I would use it to strengthen my financial foundation by paying off outstanding bills and easing long-term obligations. That stability would allow me to focus even more fully on my work and my family. I would also set aside a portion for a modest vacation—an opportunity to rest, reflect, and create meaningful memories with the people who support me every day.
