Learn MoreI became a teacher because it was my childhood dream. To date, I have worked in every avenue of educating students since 2000, serving in roles that support the whole child. I love teaching because building sincere, trusting relationships helps students grow in confidence, improve their behavior, and achieve more that create lasting connections that show how meaningful this work truly is.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching moments was when a former student, now an adult with a child, stopped me to say he never forgot how I believed in him. He shared that the trust we built change how he saw himself, and he hope his child could one day have me as a teacher. That moment reminded me how deeply our impact lasts beyond the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?If awarded that $25,000 for outstanding teaching, I will use it to pay essential bills and continue providing much needed supplies for my classroom and for the underprivileged students in and beyond my school community. This support will allow me to meet student's needs more fully and extend the same commitment and care that have guided my work throughout my career.
