I became a teacher because I helped my dad get his GED. I also helped my younger brother stay calm and believe in himself that he could do his homework with just a little extra help. I wanted to continue to help children love to learn and make mistakes.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience was when a student was struggling so bad with math that when they finally understood a concept they came to me hugged me and thanked me for believing in them.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were to win the $25,000 I would use it for my classroom, and then I would put the rest aside to help my children have what they will need for their education. I don’t need material things. I enjoy the idea of making memories and impacts on my students and my own two children.
