I absolutely love learning. I want to take in as much information as I can so I can understand the people and world around me to the best of my ability. While I love learning, I especially love sharing knowledge with those around me. Watching students grasp an idea or make a connection in the classroom warms my soul. I've also had a surplus of amazing teachers in my life that inspired me to become the teacher I am today. I was surrounded by caring teachers with high expectations.

I was able to organize an overnight field trip to the North Carolina coast for students to experience an environment education program. Some of my students hadn't been to the beach before, and being able to bring them on a trip to the beach with their classmates to learn and have fun was a really amazing experience. Seeing them take in information about our state in such a hands on environment was really special and something I hope they cherish for a lifetime.

I would pay off some outstanding debt and I would make a donation to the Miracle Miley Research Fund. This research fund goes directly to single ventricle heart research at Duke University. My youngest daughter, Alice, passed away due to complications from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. It's a vicious heart defect that I wish on no one or their families. This research fund is looking for way to help these patients and their families with every cent that is raised.
