Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I genuinely enjoy sharing my passion for my subject and connecting with my students. I truly value building positive relationships with my students and their families. I transitioned into special education to better advocate for my students, deepen those relationships, and support their growth and achievements each year.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I conducted an activity called See, Think, Story, in which I shared images depicting Jews on trains during WWII as well as pictures of concentration & death camp buildings that were currently empty I asked the students to write a story based on what they believed they were seeing Many initially thought that the buildings were churches or schools & that the trains carried passengers going on vacation They were quite surprised & deeply moved when they learned the actual history behind those images

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have two students who are experiencing homelessness, and I would like to purchase clothing and personal items for them, as well as provide some extra funds for their future needs. Additionally, I am considering paying off my debt and saving to help my 16-year-old son buy a car.
