I became a teacher to create belonging through music. In two years, I’ve built programs that elevate student voice, expand access, and transform school culture. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments was when my students were invited to perform at a high‑profile district event, a first for our school. Watching them shine on such a big stage, knowing it became the highlight of their middle school experience, reminded me why creating these opportunities matters.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to expand access to music by funding instruments, adaptive equipment, and performance opportunities for students who rarely get them. This award would help me grow programs that build belonging, creativity, and confidence for every child.
