I used to play school with my older siblings! By high school I was working at libraries and helping tutor struggling classmates! Finally, I worked as a camp counselor summers during college and loved sharing my love of the outdoors!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI’ve always enjoyed teaching reading and was generally given higher readers to work with! I loved doing special projects and using books that were emotionally moving! Two novels in particular were enough to move me to tears and my students with me!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would help establish more relatable collections of books in the various schools and libraries I am still connected to. Also I’d love to fund an afterschool adventurers program and take regular field trips out in nature and to important national and historical sites!
